Simons Says… Toronto! Retail Scene Buzzes as Simons Plans Openings for 2025

Toronto’s style scene is buzzing with excitement as Quebec-based retailer Simons, one of the longest running retailers in Canada, announced the opening of two new locations in the city: Eaton Centre and Yorkdale Shopping Centre. Slated for Fall 2025, the new locations are part of a $75 million investment to strengthen Simons’ presence in Canada’s largest and wealthiest city taking advantage of the prime spaces left by Nordstrom’s exit. Bernard Leblanc, CEO of Simons, told Retail Insider, “These lease deals were decades in the making.”

This is a fantastic move for Simons, known for its wide range of quality fashion for men and women and home decor. (We’ve always preferred its offerings over The Bay.)

Toronto, Simons’ second-largest online market in Canada, was notably underserved with just one store at Square One in Mississauga. The new stores aim to meet this demand, with both malls boasting some of the country’s highest foot traffic and sales per square foot. Each store will feature unique architectural designs and local art, with the Eaton Centre store spanning three levels and the Yorkdale store embracing a sun-filled theme. Both stores will showcase Simons’ full range of merchandise, including their luxury Edito departments.
