As an elder millennial aspiring to be a solo parent (by choice, not by circumstance), self-care is key to the entire operation. So, when I was invited to join the launch of The DIVA Vulva Skin Care Line, I knew deep down in my pelvic floor that I had to be one of the first to learn about these new products designed to support a healthy moisture barrier and better vulva health.
So, as someone with eczema (sensitive skin) and endometriosis, I tried the Pelvic Wellness Bundle to strengthen my self-care routine as I prepare for my second egg retrieval. Below, I’ll share my personal takeaways after testing the new products.
The Cleanser — Nourishing Vulva Wash
Finally, a safe cleanser for sensitive skin made specifically to get you fresh after a lift class and day two of your period. In addition to washing away unwanted sweat and debris on my most sensitive parts, this cleanser doesn’t strip away moisture — instead, the formula contains cranberry seed oil, aloe and VBIOME to moisturize and maintain pH balance for any part of the cycle. Just casually leveling up those shower vibes when cleansing heads south.
The Moisturizer — Nourishing Moisture for Vulvas
Always a sucker for a set, this second step to a sweet vulva-care routine always feels satisfying for me. Though the cleanser leaves enough moisture to skip this step in a rush, if time is on my side and I can layer on this speciality moisturizer after a shower, the confidence to take on the day or night rises here. I can be picky about moisturizers — hating a film feeling, specific about scents and always worried about an eczema flare-up — I was relieved that I could enjoy this lightweight lotion. The scent matches the cleanser and the formula leaves my sensitive skin feeling smooth — and without breakouts.
The Refresher — Nourishing Cleansing Mist
Several years ago, I reviewed a similar product line by South and enjoyed a VIP treatment for my vulva — and that was the first time I was introduced to this concept of a mist on-the-go that could refresh you in the middle of the day. Back then, I was still living that 9-to-5 in-office life and loved this type of product around 4:45 PM before heading to post-work social events. Though I have less chaos to move through on the daily, having a gentle, no-rinse refreshing quick spray like this in my purse continues to come in clutch. The pro-tip this time around I didn’t have last time is the concept of spraying this onto a tissue and turning the solution into a refreshing wipe — casually restoring the energy you started your day with. The size is travel-ready and let’s be real, every woman has always low-key dreamed of having this 20 minutes before landing in their destination.
